Maistro Plc, the AI-powered procurement marketplace for services, has moved to Exeter Science Park.
The move will allow Maistro to continue to expand its team in 2019, following this year’s appointment of Chief Commercial Officer, Neale Pritchard, and the 2018 appointment of Chief Financial Officer, Ian Cleverly. Recruitment in 2019 will continue to focus on building the company’s business development and engineering teams.
Maistro’s new offices will span across two floors in one of the newly constructed buildings in the park.
Laurence Cook, CEO at Maistro comments: “It is fantastic to be part of a growing South West tech community. Exeter Science Park is the right venue for us to expand and build on the successes of 2018. Being within a like-minded tech community will be a huge asset for us. As we have seen from our involvement with Tech South West, the tech ecosystem is thriving in the region, with technology being the fastest growing sector.
“Our relocation to Exeter Science Park will facilitate collaboration with other tech companies that are already showcasing the innovation generated by companies throughout the region.
“Maistro has seen strong growth over the past 12 months and we’re eager to accelerate this activity in our new home.”
Dr Sally Basker, CEO of Exeter Science Park, said: “We’re pleased that Maistro has chosen to move to Exeter Science Park for their next phase of growth and we welcome them to our thriving business ecosystem.
“Exeter Science Park helps innovative companies to deliver extraordinary growth and we offer our tenants the space and support to allow them to do what they do best. This is the ideal location for Maistro to continue its upward trajectory and we wish them every success.”
The Exeter Science Park Grow-on Buildings are partly funded by £4.5 million from the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership’s (HotSW LEP) Growth Deal Funding.
Steve Hindley CBE DL, Chair of the HotSW LEP, said: “Exeter Science Park is at the heart of a growing cluster of innovative businesses who are relocating here. It’s a key site in the Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone, which is part of the wider Heart of the South West Enterprise Zone package, which provides prime sites for businesses in the area’s most valuable sectors.
“The LEP is proud to have supported the development of Exeter Science Park through a variety of funding streams over the eight years since we were set up to generate growth and productivity. It’s an excellent example of partnership working between district and county councils, the LEP, Government and the private sector, and these new Grow-on Buildings were partly funded by £4.4m from our Growth Deal. I wish Maistro every success in the future of their business at Exeter Science Park.”
Minister for Local Growth, Jake Berry, said: “The Government is committed to boosting economic growth across the whole of the UK and building a Britain fit for the future.
“This £4.5m Local Growth Fund investment in Exeter Science Park will support businesses to develop and put the city at the forefront of the UK’s world-leading science and tech sectors. I’m pleased to see this new development attracting a wide range of innovative companies which will create high-value jobs for local people and grow the local economy.”
