Global technology recruitment consultancy Certus Recruitment has opened an office at The EpiCentre in Haverhill with up to six staff members relocating from Central London to the new office in the coming months.

In addition to London, Certus Recruitment has offices in the USA and in Australia and was founded in 2001 by Australian Justin Byrne who has lived in the UK since 1995. Having moved to the Haverhill area three years ago he says: “It made sense for us to establish a presence in Haverhill as many of our staff live in the region, and there is a large and growing technology presence in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties.”

Byrne adds: “It fits into our wider strategy of decentralising from Central London, where the cost of space is becoming prohibitive and it’s becoming more and more difficult to recruit experienced staff. These people are often looking to move away from London to buy affordable homes and start families and the increasing cost of travel, combined with a growing reluctance to spend a significant part of each day commuting, makes recruiting experienced, professional recruiters more and more difficult in London.”

Andrew Bell, Centre Manager at The EpiCentre, says: “We welcome Justin and his team to The EpiCentre. We are finding an increasing number of our clients are opting for workplace locations closer to home, are focusing forensically on office space overheads, and having worked from home throughout the COVID pandemic are keen to return to a space where they can work together in teams. The EpiCentre fulfils this need perfectly.”

Byrne sees The EpiCentre as the ideal location. “We wouldn’t want to be in central Cambridge as it is an absolute nightmare to get in and out of every day. The EpiCentre provides a professional office environment and is unique in the Haverhill area. The ample on-site parking, fantastic café in The Hub and amazing support team makes the Epicentre a great place to locate, where our team benefit from being members of a larger business community – humans thrive on contact.”
