PARTNERED WITH
The Wood Centre for Innovation (WCFI) is partnered and fully integrated with the Oxford Centre for Innovation (OCFI), already a well-established hub in the heart of Oxford. This enables our businesses to tap into a larger network of science and technology companies, and allows the sharing of expertise and resources, including access to meeting rooms in a city centre location.
OWNED BY
The Wood Centre for Innovation (WCFI) and the Oxford Centre for Innovation (OCFI) are both owned by The Oxford Trust; an independent charitable trust founded in 1985 by entrepreneurs Sir Martin and Lady Audrey Wood. The Trust’s mission is to encourage the pursuit of science and enterprise.
Both innovation centres encourage enterprise by providing cost-effective, flexible office space, meeting and conference facilities and business support for tech entrepreneurs and start-ups. They have enabled hundreds of innovative companies to begin, develop and grow, including; Mirada Medical, Perspectum Diagnostics, Natural Motion and Oxford Computer Consultants.
The Trust’s sustainable business model means that income from WCFI and OCFI is reinvested in the Science Oxford Centre at Stansfeld Park and their Science Oxford education and engagement programmes. The strength of the Trust’s business model is that it supports both ends of the innovation ecosystem, from inspiring young children about the wonders of science, to helping start-ups develop and grow.
MANAGED BY
Our centre is managed by Oxford Innovation, who ran Europe’s first ever innovation centre set up by The Oxford Trust – and now manage a growing network of over 20 centres across the UK.
As a high-growth business itself, the Oxford Innovation team understands the challenges that innovators, start-ups, entrepreneurs and emerging businesses face. They know what works and how best to support your business. Being a part of their network allows you to connect with over 1,000 businesses and gain access to facilities in any of their locations (subject to availability).
