About Our Hosts
Once an integral part of Birmingham’s industrial past, the Victorian section of STEAMhouse was originally the headquarters for the Eccles Rubber and Cycle Company. In 2007, most of the building was destroyed by fire and remained derelict until being restored by Birmingham City University and re-launched as STEAMhouse in 2022.
STEAMhouse is a symbol of Birmingham’s commitment to industry and arts – a first-of-its-kind centre for collaborative innovation working at the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering and the Arts (STEAM).
