Stockport Business & Innovation Centre (SBIC) provides the perfect environment in which entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses can thrive. With the flexibility you require to manage your costs effectively and the space you need to design, innovate and expand.

Serviced offices are available to let on flexible terms, with as little as one month’s notice. The on-site meeting and conference rooms are ideal for client appointments or presentations and there’s a welcoming reception team to greet guests. The Centre also provides shared and virtual offices for those not ready for office space.

Supportive Office Environment

The offices vary in size from 100 sq.ft to 1,800 sq. ft, providing space for 1 to 24 employees, so whether you are just starting out or are looking for somewhere to grow your existing team we have the right solution for you. Our flexible packages give business the ability to manage costs effectively and to scale up or down as requirements change.

Engine House

Located at the heart of the Centre, is our Business Lounge, in the Engine House. It is an informal breakout space, ideal for networking or a place to touch down when on the road. Available to customers of the Centre and on a membership basis for external companies, with free WiFi and a tea or coffee each time you visit.

Shared Offices

The shared office is designed for start-up businesses, offering a soft financial landing, benefitting from having a prestigious office address, access to the Centre facilities and help from the Centre staff. There are individual workstations, all equipped with a desk, lockable storage, handset and fast internet connection.

Virtual Offices

SBIC offers virtual office packages designed to provide you with a professional image for your business, without incurring the cost of renting office space. Ideal for start-up companies, those on the road or working from home. There really isn’t a better way to get your business off the ground.

Meeting and Conference Facilities

SBIC has a range of contemporary conference and meeting rooms that combine stylish surroundings with the latest in connectivity. Whether space is needed for a conference, product launch, board meeting or interview; there is a room to meet the requirements. The professional reception team support bookings from start to finish. 

Business Support

Through the on-site Incubation Director, SBIC provides support and advice for businesses to achieve their objectives, helping with vision, strategy and effective implementation. Networking amongst customers is encouraged, regular business networking events, as well as a range of training and learning events on relevant business topics in conjunction with partners, are held at the Centre.

Start-up Business Incubation

Within SBIC, the Business Incubation office suite has been created to provide specialist support to ‘start-up’ companies to help get their business off the ground. The Incubator combines high quality, affordable office space and access to intensive incubation support ensuring that the qualifying companies receive the practical assistance to both establish themselves and grow within their marketplace.

Stockport Business and Innovation Centre is managed by Oxford Innovation, the UK’s leading business and innovation centre operator. Part of the SQW Group, which employs 180 staff, Oxford Innovation provide flexible office, laboratory, workshop and studio space to over 900 start-up and growing companies throughout a UK-wide network of business and innovation centres. Stockport Business & Innovation Centre is located on the third floor of Broadstone Mill, an iconic former cotton spinning mill in Stockport town Centre. There are excellent rail links to both Manchester and London.
