Sci-Tech Daresbury are looking for someone who has both the experience and passion to help continue the successful growth of this nationally-recognised campus, enabling the scaling and growth of the companies on campus through a mix of their expertise, developed programmes and networks and partnerships. They must enjoy the challenge of working across a variety of business and technology environments including entrepreneurial businesses, corporates, universities and governmental science.
The Business Growth Manager is an important strategic role at Sci-Tech Daresbury to provide greater business development resource and expertise into attracting technology companies to locate their business or part of their business onto the Sci-Tech Daresbury campus. This could be across one of many business facilities on the site but will initially be focused on the Innovation Centre and Vanguard House buildings, which provide a range of office and laboratory/workshop space for business teams (circa 1-50 people).
The Business Growth Manager will also have an important role working with the management teams of the campus companies to help support their growth. This includes helping them get access to new markets, raise funding and investment, accessing key skills and expertise they need or identifying key facilities or equipment they require for their business.
This will be achieved through the utilisation of Sci-Tech Daresbury’s extensive partner network including our Gold and Silver partnership programmes (https://sci-techdaresbury.com/campus-life/partnerships/), University partnerships and work with business support agencies such as Innovate UK, Department for Business and Trade and Health Innovation Network. This will be achieved in some cases as part of the wider Business Growth team but the Business Growth Manager will also manage and lead partnerships between Sci-Tech Daresbury and external organisations.
The business support required for this role will require working with a ranger of companies from start-ups companies and SMEs to large international corporates in technology sectors ranging from advanced engineering, life sciences, health technologies, digital technologies and advanced materials.
This position will be part of a growing Business Growth team managed by Langtree at Sci-Tech Daresbury and one of sixteen staff working on the site. You will work closely with the Business and Innovation team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council based on the campus.
