Milton Park has welcomed the news the government is set to revive plans for the Ox-Cam Arc. With aims to double the economic output of the science-rich region between Britain’s two best-known universities, the government has revived plans to build transport links and housing between the two cities, the latest sign of Labour focusing on high-productivity areas in its push for growth.

Reacting to the UK Government’s decision to back the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, Philip Campbell, Commercial Director at MEPC Milton Park, said:

“Hot on the heels of the adoption of Milton Park’s new 4.2 million sq ft Local Development Order (LDO) and simplified ten-day planning regime, we welcome the government’s decision to back the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.

“When combined with the necessary investment and policies to support growth, adopting a place-based approach to infrastructure requirements will be the most effective way to unlock the region’s extraordinary potential. “Now is the time for the government to set the right foundations.”
