A new COVID-19 test kit, which can detect the presence of the virus in six different individuals simultaneously in under 30 minutes, is one step closer to coming to market following a partnership deal with leading electronic, robotics and software companies.
Eurofins County Pathology, a high-quality diagnostic service provider, has been involved in the provision of the antibody testing kits for COVID-19 from the outset and has now expanded its laboratory space on Surrey Research Park to increase its provision of tests to deliver 5,000 COVID-19 antibody tests a day.
Smart Separations, a microfiltration company located on Surrey Research Park, was crowned the winner at the European Innovation Council’s (EIC) ePitching session as it seeks solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unique Secure located on Surrey Research Park is a small product design and manufacturing business but has diverted its expertise and resources to design and produce visors. It is striving to donate 10,000 visors to the NHS free of charge by 31st May and is appealing for donations to support their efforts.
Located on Surrey Research Park, Igenomix UK, a medical laboratory offering genetic tests for fertility treatment, has diverted its resources to carry out COVID-19 PCR tests for both its private and NHS patients as well as their network of clinicians.
