The National Innovation Centre for Data (NICD) at Newcastle University is seeking a Venue Technician to play a lead role in providing comprehensive AV and technical support for all commercial events and meetings held at The Catalyst building. This role will work alongside the building management team and stakeholders to maintain and develop the processes necessary to ensure successful delivery of all commercial activities. You will liaise with other colleagues in the IT Service and across the University to ensure effective service delivery.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who holds extensive practical experience and exceptional technical skills to be able to manage the set up, and operation of audio systems, projection, digital screen control, video switchers, streaming, video conferencing, lighting, and staging. You will work closely alongside our centre management team, to liaise and communicate with commercial customers in the lead up to and during events to ensure AV systems operate to achieve the desired outcome.
You must possess excellent organisational, customer service and communication skills, have a keen eye for detail and be able to prioritise your own workload to ensure deadlines are met to a high standard.
Energy, enthusiasm, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, and a flexible helpful approach are essential.
You should possess a relevant technical qualification and/or equivalent technical experience in a similar role and comparable setting.

Salary: £26,341 – £27,924, with progression to £30,497 per annum
