A familiar face at one of Solihull’s leading innovation hubs has been promoted to Centre Manager after supporting a wide range of businesses during her time in the role’s deputy position.
Daisy Askill has been appointed Centre Manager at Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, which is owned by Solihull Council and managed by the University of Warwick Science Park.
She moves into the role after being Assistant Centre Manager since January 2024, supporting tenants with administrative matters.
In her new role, Daisy will take overall responsibility for the operation of the centre, ensuring existing tenants continue to receive a high level of support while also attracting new innovative businesses to join the thriving business community at Blythe Valley Innovation Centre.
Daisy said: “It’s a real privilege to become Centre Manager at a place that has become so important to me over the last year and a half.
“One of the things I’ve always loved about Blythe Valley Innovation Centre is the welcoming atmosphere we’ve built with our tenants. Every business is different, so taking the time to understand what they need and helping them feel supported is something I’m keen to continue.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming new businesses into the centre and ensuring that everyone here continues to receive the personal service that makes the Innovation Centre such a special place to work.”
Mark Tock, Chief Operations Officer at the University of Warwick Science Park, added: “Daisy has made a fantastic impression since joining the team and has become a trusted face for our tenants.
“She prides herself on excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for every business based at the centre. Her promotion is thoroughly deserved, and I’m confident she will continue to build on the strong reputation Blythe Valley Innovation Centre has developed.”
The appointment comes at an exciting time for Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, as Solihull Council and the University of Warwick Science Park continue to work closely together on plans for a significant investment in the centre. Planned improvements include the creation of collaborative ‘Creative Commons’ spaces featuring writable walls, a digital concierge service and enhanced facilities designed to support innovation-focused meetings, collaboration and business growth.
