Plymouth Science Park is delighted to welcome Jacques Wood, Senior Digital Applications Engineer, to head up the Park’s Advanced Digital Manufacturing & Innovation Centre (ADMI).
Jacques Wood joined Plymouth Science Park in January 2023 to lead on the advanced manufacturing centre, through which the Park provides metal and polymer 3D printing, alongside providing consultation for design for additive manufacturing.
Jacques has worked in engineering for over ten years, specialising in additive manufacturing for the aerospace, motorsports, space, defence and medical sectors.
In his new role, Jacques is looking forward to creating a technical showcase of the Park’s ADMI department: “I’m excited to help build the South West’s additive manufacturing knowledge centre, and take the department to the next level as a centre of innovation and, hopefully, a Centre of Excellence. We are looking to be the go-to place for helping people to learn about this innovative technology, and how they can utilise it.”
Prior to joining Plymouth Science Park, Jacques worked with KW Special Projects, leading his department to build upon its strengths in engineering and high performance industries. In 2020, the department’s success meant it was rolled out into a standalone business, becoming the Digital Manufacturing Centre in Silverstone, where Jacques led on delivering end-to-end solutions, from design to development, manufacturing and delivery.
Jacques said: “Reliability and dependability are the two core values that run through my work, allowing myself and my team to deliver in a fast-paced sector. I’m looking forward to working within the Park’s industry-leading additive manufacturing department, while enjoying a new pace of life down here in the West Country.”
