Milestone Moment For Harwell As 150,000 Sq. Ft Tech Foundry Development Completes

Harwell Science Campus has achieved a significant milestone in its Campus 600 initiative after its 150,000 sq. ft Tech Foundry development at Harwell Campus reached practical completion.

The groundbreaking new facilities comprise of advanced manufacturing and R&D space and are designed to help bolster the region’s reputation as a hub for innovation, accelerating the growth of technology, manufacturing and life sciences sectors.

Tech Foundry 1 and 2 are the latest additions to the Campus’ 600 initiative, which will see a further 600,000 sq. ft of innovation and collaboration space built at the campus over the next couple of years.

The development was officially opened by Olly Glover, MP for Didcot and Wantage who said: “The opening of Tech Foundry marks a significant milestone in our efforts to continue to position the region as a leader in science and technology. I am delighted to see the vision for Tech Foundry come to life and look forward to the positive impact the Campus and its members will have on our economy and society.”

Daniel Pagella, Senior Director of Asset Management at Harwell commented, “We were delighted to welcome Olly Glover to officially open Tech Foundry, a space designed to help businesses turn ideas into reality more quickly. We’re looking forward to supporting our member community at Harwell as as they continue to develop novel technologies that benefit us all.”

The opening of Tech Foundry follows just days after the National Quantum Computing Centre a new national laboratory dedicated to accelerating development of quantum computing for the UK, was formally opened by the Minister of Science, Research and Innovation, Lord Vallance.
