As the 24th location in the firm’s global network of offices, HOK’s new studio will focus on the planning and design of projects in the corporate, commercial mixed-use, science and technology, and healthcare markets.

“Establishing an office in Summit is part of our strategic plan for moving closer to clients in the Northeast and being integrated into the communities we serve,” said Carl Galioto, FAIA, HOK’s president and managing principal for the Northeast region. “Our expertise-based practice and culture align perfectly with this market. With a long history of designing regional projects such as the Penn Medicine–Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro (above) and the LG Corporate Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, we can now provide a higher level of service to our clients by combining HOK’s global knowledge and local insight.”

HOK’s new office is located at 350 Springfield Avenue in Summit’s central business district. The space will initially support 25 professionals and provide easy access to the Morristown corporate corridor, Northern and Central New Jersey. HOK has designed the studio to promote innovation, sustainability and collaboration.

Lisa Brinkman, a principal and regional director of WorkPlace, will lead the Summit practice. Christopher Laul, senior principal for the Northeast, will direct the marketing and business development efforts.

HOK’s history of designing and delivering successful projects in New Jersey also includes BMW’s North America Headquarters in Woodcliff Lake; the New Jersey Public Health Laboratory in Trenton; Colgate Palmolive’s Technology Center in Piscataway; Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey’s Headquarters Renovation in Newark; MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford; and several projects across the state for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital System.
