An UKSPA Board initiative to help improve diversity and representation.
Last year UKSPA appointed two co-opted members of the UKSPA Board. Following an open application process Alice Reeve (Hethel Innovation) and Joe Caine (Keele University Science Park) were appointed to the UKSPA Board and have contributed to the work of the Association over the last twelve months.
This initiative will be repeated and we are asking for expressions of interest from those who may not be in senior leadership roles in their location but would be keen to expand their experience and contribute to the development of UKSPA.
Alice Reeve has provided these thoughts on the opportunity: “Over the last 12 months, I have gained valuable insight into how UKSPA sets its strategic direction and implements this through the board. The board meetings, working groups, and mentoring from an UKSPA director has improved my confidence and ability within my own company with many transferrable skills and techniques.
My time as a co-opted board member has been both valuable to my personal development and to the development of my company. I would strongly encourage anyone considering applying for the coopted position to go for it, the balance between time required and value gained has been excellent.
The directors are from a wide range of organisations and have a huge amount of experience and knowledge that they are all willing to share. Their openness with and investment in supporting the co-opted directors has been incredible. I would certainly do another year if I could!”
