The EpiCentre Innovation Director publishes AI search guide to help life science and biotech businesses gain global visibility

Life science and biotechnology businesses can dramatically improve their online visibility by understanding how artificial intelligence selects trusted sources, according to Gary Jennings, Innovation Director at The EpiCentre in Haverhill, who has published a new book explaining how companies can be cited in Google’s AI Answers.

The book, Be The AI Answer has been written following Gary’s work with innovative start-ups and scale-ups, many of which are developing world-leading technologies but struggle to make themselves visible online amongst larger, better-funded competitors.

Google’s AI Answers are rapidly changing the way people search for information. Instead of simply displaying a list of websites, Google’s AI now provides direct answers, citing sources it considers to be authoritative and trustworthy. For companies operating in highly technical sectors such as life sciences, biotechnology and advanced research, being referenced in these AI-generated responses can significantly increase credibility, website traffic, investor confidence and commercial enquiries.

Gary Jennings said: “Many life science companies possess remarkable expertise, but they’re often so focused on innovation that they overlook how AI discovers and delivers information. The good news is that Google’s AI isn’t necessarily looking for the biggest company with deep marketing budgets – it’s looking for the most authoritative answer. This creates an enormous opportunity for specialist businesses to become recognised experts in their field.”

As Innovation Director at The EpiCentre, Gary supports pioneering companies across biotechnology, healthcare, diagnostics and other science-led sectors, helping them embrace emerging technologies to accelerate commercial growth. His new publication extends that support by providing practical guidance on how businesses can ensure their expertise is recognised by AI-powered search.

Helen Earl, Centre Manager at The EpiCentre, said: “Gary’s book is another excellent example of the expertise that exists within The EpiCentre. Our laboratories and innovation spaces are home to businesses developing technologies that have the potential to change lives, and helping those companies become more visible to customers, collaborators and investors is a natural extension of our mission. We are proud to see Gary sharing this knowledge and reinforcing The EpiCentre’s reputation as a centre of innovation.”

To accompany the launch, Gary will host a series of workshops at The EpiCentre, demonstrating how AI search is transforming digital marketing and showing businesses—particularly those in the life sciences and biotech sectors—how they can position themselves as trusted sources in Google’s AI Answers.
