The next series of regional meetings for UKSPA Full and Associate Members, and key stakeholders have been announced. UKSPA regional member meetings provide a great opportunity to knowledge share, network with peers and shape the direction of UKSPA’S regional agenda.
The UKSPA Midlands Meeting taking place at Birmingham Research Park on Wednesday 22nd January 2025 at 10am – 1pm, as well as an opportunity to share best practice amongst fellow full members, the group will look at the challenges, opportunities and aims for the group going forward. Additionally there will be a chance to take a look around BioHub Birmingham® a fully serviced biomedical incubator and accelerator designed to house life science companies from proof of concept through to expansion.
The next UKSPA Wales Group Meeting will be hosted by the Cardiff & Vale University Health Board at the Pioneer Group location Cardiff Edge, on Wednesday 5th February at 10am, the meeting will also incorporate a tour, having undergone a recent refurbishment. Cardiff Edge, is a 11-hectare, beautifully landscaped, life sciences R&D site, which provides serviced lab space and offices to rent. Cardiff Edge reflects South Wales’ ambition to create an exemplary life sciences ecosystem, connecting business, academia, office space and the public sector.
UKSPA Scotland Group Meeting will take place on 19th February and is kindly hosted by at the University of Strathclyde’s, Technology and Innovation Centre from 10am till 1pm. The Centre is the University of Strathclyde’s dedicated national and international centre for research, commercialisation and business research and development. The Centre grows its research and knowledge exchange capability and is the first of its kind in Scotland in terms of size and multi-disciplinary research activity. The specialist research groups based in the building, have strong links with industry and work in collaborative teams to solve global issues across sectors including Energy, Health, Manufacturing, and Future Cities.
The UKSPA East of England Meeting will take place on Wednesday 26th February, at St John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge. The Centre is home to around 80 companies employing over 500 people, creating a vibrant and diverse community with an entrepreneurial spirit and diverse business community, which encourages the cross-fertilisation of ideas.
