Helping CaSE to keep science and engineering at the heart of the UK’s future.
ARC has today announced that it has joined the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE), the UK’s leading advocate for science and engineering.
CaSE represents over 115 scientific organisations including businesses, universities, professional bodies, and research charities as well as individual scientists and engineers, working in partnership to deliver a clear expert voice on decisions about science and engineering.
Commenting on the announcement, Professor Sarah Main, Executive Director of CaSE, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Advanced Research Clusters (ARC) as a new CaSE member. ARC focuses on bringing together place-based innovation clusters, offering both space and support for businesses to accelerate their commercial growth, and we are delighted that ARC has chosen to add its unique voice to CaSE’s growing membership.”
“I look forward to working together and embedding ARC’s distinctive insight into our policy work at a time when the UK has the opportunity to unlock its scientific and innovation potential and reap the benefits that come from these advancements.”
Stuart Grant, Chief Executive Officer of ARC added: “Science is playing an increasingly important role in our everyday lives so ensuring that that the organisations at the forefront of scientific discoveries are part of a supportive ecosystem from securing funding to access to talent is extremely important to us.
“Joining CaSE provides us with the opportunity to further support our 250 members, to help them scale and thrive as well as building more collaborations and partnerships with academia, industry and government.”
Today, ARC’s portfolio consists of 1.6 million square feet of existing assets and 5 million square feet of development potential across the UK’s Golden Triangle. It includes Harwell Science and Innovation Campus – a joint venture with the UK Government, alongside ARC Oxford, ARC Uxbridge and ARC West London.
Diamond Light Source – The UK’s National Synchrotron which is based at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus together with 15 further national facilities also announced recently that it has joined CaSE.
