What is the UKSPA 40th Anniversary Conference?

When and where is the conference being held?
The main conference session will take place at The Slate conference centre within the University of Warwick during the 17th to 18th October, 2024.
The pre-conference activities for Member Full Conference Package ticket holders will be taking place at Warwick Science Park with the pre-conference dinner on the night of the 16th October being held at the British Motor Museum.
How do I get there?
The University of Warwick is located on the outskirts of Coventry and is easily accessible by major motorway routes. It’s also close to Coventry train station, appox 3 miles and Birmingham International Airport, approx. 10 miles.
By train
Coventry is on the West Coast Mainline and serviced by regular trains and is the most convenient train station. It is served by trains from London Euston, Birmingham (New Street and International) and Leicester. From Coventry Station it’s easy to get a taxi or bus to the venue.
Alternate stations Canley and Tile Hill are both served by trains from London, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby and Northampton. Neither station has a taxi rank, so if you don’t want to walk, book a taxi in advance. Leamington Spa is served by trains from Birmingham, Coventry, Oxford, Reading and London Marylebone. You can get a bus to the venue from close to the station.
By bus
There are regular buses from the Coventry city centre, Coventry rail station and Leamington Spa. Taxis are easily available from these location.
From Coventry, the 11 and 12 bus routes both serve Warwick Conferences. Both buses call at the Rail Station Bridge SD stop on Warwick Road; a one-minute walk from Coventry station –Â view on Google maps
From Leamington Spa, the U1 and U2 buses serve Warwick Conferences. Both services stop at Parish Church Stand B; a seven-minute walk from Leamington Spa station –Â view on Google maps
By plane
The closest airport is Birmingham International Airport. A taxi to us from the airport will take approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a direct train to Coventry from Birmingham International station which is located at the airport.
London Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports are all connected to Coventry by National Express coach services. Alternatively, you can take the train to Coventry, with a change in central London.

Where will I stay?
For those members and non members booking a Full Conference Package delegates will stay in en-suite bedrooms at Radcliffe, which is right next door to The Slate. Accommodation is included in the registration fee for the Full Conference Package for the night of Thursday 17th October. UKSPA has made all the necessary arrangements and you do not need to book this accommodation.
Member Full Conference Package ticket holders are also entitled to attend the pre-conference activities including the pre-conference dinner and also have accommodation provided within the registration fee for the night of October 16th. UKSPA has made all the necessary arrangements and you do not need to book this accommodation.
For those not booking the full conference package and wishing to book accommodationn please find a list below of hotels all within 20 minutes drive to the venue.

Arrive at mid-day for registration at The Radcliffe for full conference ticket holders only. During the afternoon tours of many facilities will be organised, full details will be announced shortly.
On the evening of the 16th October we will be holding a pre-conference dinner to be held at the British Motor Museum. For those not wishing to drive transport will be arranged between venues. The pre-conference dinner starts at 19:30 with transport arranged for pick up from the Radcliffe at 19:00, returning at approximately 23:00.
You will be contacted well in advance of the conference to confirm any dietary requirements you may have. Please note the pre-conference dinner is only available to those booking the FULL Conference Ticket and that spaces are limited.
When does the pre-conference dinner take place?
The pre-conference dinner takes place on the evening of the 16th October at the British Motor Museum and starts at 19:30, we anticipate it to finish at around 11:00pm.
Where is the pre-conference dinner?
The pre-conference dinner will be held at the British Motor Museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of historic British cars. The dinner venue is the Sky Suite, located on the top floor of the museum, with panoramic windows and a rooftop balcony. During the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to view the exhibits.

Who can attend the pre-conference dinner?
Only those delegates who have purchased FULL conference packages can attend the pre-conference dinner. Non member full tickets do not include the pre-conference dinner.
When does the full conference start and what is the agenda for the conference?
We will be releasing the full agenda in the coming weeks but for information here are the timings and themes.

Where and when is the conference drinks reception on the 17th October?
The conference drinks reception, kindly sponsored by BDP, will be held from 19:00 to 19:45 at The Slate Exhibition Space.
Where and when is the Gala Dinner and Awards?
The Gala Dinner, kindly sponsored by Communicate Technology, and Awards is on 17th October from 19:45 until 23:30. This will take place at The Slate Conference Room.

What is the Dress Code for the pre-conference dinner, conference and gala dinner and awards?
- The dress code for the pre-conference dinner is smart casual
- The dress code for the conference is business attire
- The dress code for the Gala Dinner is black tie
Is accommodation included?
Yes! UKSPA has pre-booked rooms for all full package delegates (both full members and business affiliates) for the night of October 16th and 17th. No need to book separately; UKSPA has done that for you and the cost is included in your FULL conference ticket so there is no additional cost.
We are a non-member and have booked a full conference package is accommodation included?
For UKSPA non-members your Full Conference ticket includes accommodation for the night of the 17th October only. You ticket does not give you access to the pre-conference activities or pre-conference dinner on the 16th October.
How can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased on-line click here
There are a number of ticket options including one day only tickets and gala dinner tickets. Only those purchasing the full conference package tickets will be provided accommodation and access to the pre-conference activities.
Once you book you will receive an email confirmation followed by a invoice/receipt within 24 hours.
How many tickets can we buy?
Tickets are limited to 2 per member at this time, this includes full members, associate members and business affiliates.
Non-members can also purchase a maximum of two tickets.
We reserve the right to release further tickets nearer the date and members and non-members can ask to go on a waiting list.
Can you invoice us for tickets?
No tickets are purchased on-line using a debit or credit card, you cannot be invoiced but you will be provided with an automatic receipt.
Will I receive ticket confirmation?
Once your payment is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your ticket details. You will then receive an invoice/receipt within 24 hours. You will be contacted nearer to the event to submit dietary and accessibility requirements.
How can I inform you of any accommodation or dietary requirements?
Nearer the event you will receive an email asking you for any specific requirements, we will then make all the necessary arrangements.
How do I enter an award?
There is a wide range of Award Categories, covering all membership types, with awards in several categories for both larger and small organisations. Individual nomination forms, detailing the full award criteria and submission process, are available to download here.
