This is a senior leadership post responsible for the strategy, planning, operation and management of Surrey Research Park, an award-winning, major centre of excellence in Technology, Science, Health and Engineering.

Comprising 170 companies within 31 buildings, the Park has been a place of innovation and collaboration between business and the University of Surrey for more than 35 years. Today it delivers more than 7,000 jobs and adds more than £620M in gross value to the UK economy; and it adds significant value to our outstanding innovation ecosystem from supporting our incubation hub, to R&D initiatives, to student training and placement.

As Director of Surrey Research Park, the post holder will be accountable for delivering six key objectives:

  • Maximising the return on investment and asset value
  • Enhancing Research-Business engagement and partnerships
  • Supporting the wider Park-University engagement
  • Raising the profile of the University
  • Providing a competitive advantage to tenant companies
  • Supporting regional and national economic development

The successful candidate will be an exceptional leader, who can run a large and bespoke real estate business whilst understanding the wider economic and social value proposition of a University-led Research Park. The post holder will craft bold strategies and feasible delivery plans and will be able to successfully articulate these to key stakeholders, both internally and externally. The successful candidate will show a strong understanding of both commercial property management and the science and technology sector.
