HMRC Time to Pay This scheme can enable firms and individuals in temporary financial distress as a result of Covid-19 to delay payment of outstanding tax liabilities. HMRC’s dedicated helpline provides practical help and advice on 0800 0159 559.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme: Government grants will cover 80% of the salary of PAYE employees who would otherwise have been laid off during this crisis. The scheme, open to any employer in the country, will cover the cost of wages backdated to 1 March 2020 and will be open before the end of April. It will continue for at least three months and can include workers who were in employment on 28 February.Further businesses and premises to close. Non-essential businesses and premises must now shut. A full list of the businesses and premises that must remain closed is available here. Takeaway and delivery services may remain open and operational. Online retail is still open and encouraged and postal and delivery service will run as normal

COVID-19 Corporate Financing Facility – Now open for applications: Under the new COVID-19 Corporate Financing Facility, the Bank of England will buy short term debt from larger companies. All non-financial companies that meet the criteria set out on the Bank of England’s website are eligible. The scheme is now available for applications. More information is available from the Bank of England.Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan. HMRC are working urgently to set up a system for reimbursement. Existing systems are not set up to facilitate payments to employers. If your business needs short term cash flow support, you may be eligible for a Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan.

People unable to work for more than seven days because of coronavirus (COVID-19) can obtain an isolation note through a new online service.
