ABOUT
Oberlanders are an established Architectural practice with four studios based throughout the UK. The Science and Research Sector is a bedrock of our practice and over the past 20 years we have worked closely with numerous Science Parks as they have evolved and grown.
We have excellent insight into the current and future requirements of tenants and developers (both public and private) and understand the pressure and challenges of the ever-changing demands of scientific research. Our focus is always to create agile spaces and places, in an efficient, affordable and environmentally sustainable manner.
Every Science Park is unique and our masterplanning experience includes sensitive greenbelt landscapes, remote coastal locations and urban brownfield sites. We have recently completed masterplans for the Edinburgh BioQuarter, Edinburgh Technopole and the Clyde Waterfront Innovation Zone, for the University of Glasgow. We have also led the latest phase of the European Marine Science Park masterplan for Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
Our Oxford studio is at Milton Park and we are currently working at both Harwell Science Centre and at Cambridge Science Park.
We work with developers and science park operators to create flexible adaptable spaces for science and research. We understand the needs of science buildings and work with clients to realise their ambition for innovative, creative space that seamlessly blends wet and dry laboratory requirements with agile, collaborative workspace and breakout areas.
We are committed to reaching out widely to networking partners and collaborators to share knowledge and expertise and identify robust yet adaptable evidence-based design solutions. Always looking outwards, we are members of the IDeA network, a network of 19 like-minded practices based throughout Europe, and use this global network for the benefit of our clients.
