MEPC has successfully let a further 41,000 sq ft of commercial property at Silverstone Park in August after four more businesses – three of them operating in high tech engineering – chose to locate to the rapidly expanding business estate.

The latest lettings are expected to create more than 50 new jobs on site…

TotalSim, a world leader in computational fluid dynamics, has commenced the fit-out of its 26,400 sq ft unit. The premises will be transformed into a state-of-the-art sports engineering facility called the ‘Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub’ which TotalSim believes will have global appeal for Olympic sports, in particular cycling.

Built by MEPC as part of a new 125,000 sq ft speculative development within the Enterprise Zone, Valluga Racing has taken an 8,000 sq ft facility, next door to TotalSim.

Valluga specialises in competition car management, storing, preparing and supporting trackside a mix of machinery from 1950s Austin A40s up to present-day Porsche 991 Cup cars. It is also in the process of completing the fit-out of its unit.

Danecca, an expert in advanced battery technology for the electric automotive market, has taken a hybrid R&D unit of 2,254 sq ft consisting of office and workshop accommodation.

Joining Danecca in the same building, letting 4,644 sq ft, is Automotive Insights Ltd – part of the Insights Group and a provider of high quality, specialist, automotive mystery shopping, auditor and coaching services to vehicle manufacturers and dealer groups throughout the UK and Europe.

Combined, these latest lettings, totalling 41,000 sq ft, bring the total of commercial property now occupied at Silverstone Park to 370,000 sq ft of the 400,000 sq ft built.

MEPC is currently working on a new reserved matters application for a further 260,000 sq ft of new development on land which is already serviced with 21MVA of new power and benefits from business rates relief as a result of the continuing Enterprise Zone status.

MEPC’s Roz Bird, Commercial Director at the estate, commented: “This latest influx of companies during August highlights the appeal of Silverstone Park for companies with growth ambitions.

“They are attracted by the high-quality environment, the recognition attached to the Silverstone name, the central location and the sports, social and networking programme which, when combined, means companies are in a location that can impress their clients and help them to attract and retain the best staff.”

Local and national letting agents for Silverstone Park are Carter Jonas and DTRE.

Carter Jonas’s Jon Silversides said: “Having been appointed as local agents six months ago we are delighted to have played our part in attracting new occupiers to the Park during this time, continuing to build the technology hub and occupier mix. Going forward the next stages of development look to be extremely exciting, with a range of interesting occupier discussions which we hope will translate into further take up.”

DTRE’s Jamie Catherall added: “We’re thrilled that four new occupiers have chosen Silverstone Park. With the level of interest we’ve had and only 22,000 sq ft remaining of new stock, we are now involved in detailed discussions with MEPC about further development.”
