Birmingham’s Lunar Society has partnered with the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce to host a showcase of the city’s brightest entrepreneurs driving innovation in the health sector through technology.
Digital Health Entrepreneurs: A Birmingham Success Story is set to take place on Wednesday 11th April from 5:30pm until 8pm at Innovation Birmingham’s flagship iCentrum building, presenting a culmination of products, processes and plans from fellow partners University Hospitals Birmingham, the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network and Mercia Technologies.
As well as highlighting how collaboration between the health sector and local entrepreneurs helps to maximise the potential of the Birmingham digital revolution, the showcase will be celebrating opportunities for job creation and prosperity in Birmingham.
The Lunar Society is a forum for leading practitioners from across Birmingham, and over the last 20 years has helped encourage social, cultural, economic and scientific progression throughout the region. Rt Hon Jacqui Smith, Chair of The Lunar Society said:

Through highlighting how Birmingham is at the forefront of health research and development, the free event also bids to connect entrepreneurs with investors, driving the development of new ideas improving health and wellbeing. Cliff Dennett, Head of Business Development at the leading location for Birmingham’s digital and tech community; Innovation Birmingham said:

The Innovation Birmingham Campus currently hosts over 160 technology businesses, nurturing digital brilliance across start-ups and scale-ups through its network of innovators and series of business support programmes.
Recently acquired by leading property company Bruntwood, the Campus is set for a new era of major expansion, helping the city’s economy flourish.
To illustrate how the West Midlands is developing the next generation of medical devices and technology, insights will be provided into ground-breaking genomics research, and specifically how this is being combined with big data and artificial intelligence to identify and treat conditions.
