Vanguard House, part of Sci-Tech Daresbury, has secured a series of new lettings which has taken the building in the Enterprise Zone to 100 per cent let.

Built in 2011, Vanguard House offers 36,000 sq ft of office and laboratory space providing high-quality accommodation for maturing businesses from both within the campus and through external lettings.

The new companies taking space in the building come from a range of sectors. They are:

• Avenista, Table Reservation & Table Management software solutions

• CAE UK, Technology Service company

• igroup, Microsoft specialists

• ORCHA, Health and Care apps company

• pm Connections, Health and Safety solutions company

Jayne Furnival, group property director of Langtree, the private sector partner in the Sci-Tech Daresbury joint venture said: “We know that flexibility and collaboration are major priorities for tech businesses and Sci-Tech Daresbury is a highly effective hub for companies looking to be part of a like-minded community.

“We are delighted to welcome these five companies to Vanguard House as we continue to build on another exciting year for us. It has been a year in which Sci-Tech Daresbury was named as the science campus making the most significant contribution to innovation in the UK by the UK Science Park Association; and also from where the Government launched its Industrial Strategy in January.

“In 2018, we will be taking forward our plans for a new development, Project Violet, which will further help to burnish our reputation as a dynamic location which is helping to promote the skills and assets of Liverpool City Region.”

Avenista, has relocated from Warrington, and has taken 1,100 sq ft. Tom Beswick, sales and marketing, said: “As we grow we are always looking to improve every facet of our business and moving to Sci-Tech Daresbury has helped push us forward again.  We need to attract talented people and having the right workspace in the right location is important. We needed something that sparkled and Sci-Tech Daresbury fits the bill.”

CAE, an award-winning tech services company which has been operating UK-wide for more than 15 years, has opened a Northern regional office and taken 1,400 sq ft to house a number of senior sales, pre-sales, sales support and service delivery functions.

Rob Georgeson, account director, said: “We chose Sci-Tech Daresbury because of transport and motorway connections, like minded companies, facilities and a place where we can expand as our Northern presence continues to grow.”

Igroup has moved from Ellesmere Port, to create a new head office. Steve Rastall, managing director, said: “The move to Sci-Tech Daresbury is a natural step, as igroup expands its technology portfolio and continues with plans to grow the team over the coming months. The campus provides excellent facilities and round the clock access for our team and has the much-needed space for the business to continue growing at its current rate.”

ORCHA, the world’s largest dedicated health related app library, has moved from Liverpool and has taken 1,100 sq ft.  Liz Ashall-Payne, chief executive, said: “For ORCHA this move is a well-placed and well-timed one. We are growing at real pace and scale and the links the site has, both nationally and internationally, provide excellent opportunities to be able to respond with key support and links already established.”

pm Connections was previously at Birchwood Park in Warrington and has taken 903 sq ft in its new home.  Stuart McCreedy, managing director, said: “Moving to Vanguard House has afforded us the opportunity to have greater and easier access to Growth Experts who can help us maximise our growth plans here at pm Connections Ltd and assist with our start-up company pmf Hygiene Management Systems Ltd.

“The team at Sci-Tech Daresbury has achieved a positive sense of community on site and have helped foster a climate in which businesses can share knowledge and best practice and are supported to develop collaborative opportunities.”
