SUMMARY:Construction News and Property Week Life Sciences & Research Clusters conference and awards
DESCRIPTION:The Construction News and Property Week Life Sciences & Research Clusters conference is a valuable investment for agents\, developers\, investors\, occupiers\, property management teams\, construction professionals and more\, to examin this fast-growing sector in commercial property. \nDemand for lab space in the UK is still outweighing supply. With over 974\,500 sq ft of lab space in demand and an additional 664\,300 sq ft delivered in 2024\, there is still a shortage of facilities\, presenting opportunities for developers and construction professionals to bridge this gap. \nThis expanding sector provides lucrative new opportunities for contractors to help deliver on the demand for space\, while real estate professionals can ensure developments align with tenants’ needs\, attract new start-ups as well as established organisations\, and realise the potential returns on investments. \nUKSPA is a media partner at this event and have secured a 15% discounted ticket price for its members at £325 for the conference and £595 for the access all areas pass. \nTo book tickets please email charlotte.mera@emap.com quoting UKSPA. These tickets are not available to book online or via UKSPA.

SUMMARY:BEN: Science and Innovation Clusters Development Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Science\, Innovation and Research sector has been championed as a bulwark of the national levelling up agenda. The UK Government has recently announced a £25bn funding package for the next three years. The package is the largest of its kind and will split its funding across three subsectors: £16bn will be directed towards Core Science\, Research and Innovation\, £3bn will go towards Infrastructure and Multidisciplinary Projects\, and £2bn towards securing top talent for the sector. \nA conservative estimate suggests there are over £10bn of development projects coming forward over the next five years\, with government showing its intent with their recent funding package announcement and by publishing a 10-year vision for life sciences. This conference unpicks the challenges and opportunities facing Science and Innovation cluster development by exploring an array of major projects\, policy announcements and investment opportunities with over 400 of the sector’s senior leaders.

SUMMARY:Emerging data technologies in life sciences
DESCRIPTION:The UK Bioscience Forum will return in October 2020 as a two day virtual event\, with the theme emerging data technologies. \nRecent years have seen an explosion of emerging data technologies in the biotech sector. Many of these address long-standing challenges in the industry\, offering the potential to reduce the time and cost of drug discovery\, and to target beyond what was previously possible. But new opportunities bring new challenges. Ethical harnessing of data\, access to and governance of data\, skills and interoperability all provide significant hurdles. \nLife science companies\, keen to tap into computational power and access the potential of vast datasets\, will need different capabilities to take the potential forward.  Equally\, technology-based organisations need to get to grips with the world of biotech in order to understand where they can add the most value.
