Discovery Park has had cause for celebration as they mark 10 years of hosting life sciences enterprises this month.
Communicate are proud to have offered our support from the start.
Communicate Operations Director, Mark Styles reflects on his decade at Discovery Park:
Having been a tenant at Discovery Park since day one, we’ve been there to provide managed IT services quickly and seamlessly, be it for start-ups, large enterprises or temporary contracts and conferences.
There’s definitely a buzz around the place, with a good community spirit where companies socialise. At our office, we like to have open doors, where we don’t just charge for services. Whether it be borrowing a lead or asking for some IT advice, to enjoying some healthy cross-office competition in our Christmas snowball game (which will be reappearing this year!) we’re here to help.
In the past 10 years, we’ve grown from 8 staff to more than 35. And with Discovery Park’s plans to double the number of people employed on the site in the next decade, we’re excited to grow and evolve alongside the park.
Over the decade they’ve become a home to over 160 businesses and their 3,500 employees, and with this comes the need for us to provide connectivity at the drop of a hat.
Recently the park has completed a multi-million-pound life sciences incubator, launched their own venture capital fund for disruptive technologies and tech, and are launching a Barclays Eagle lab for a collaborative workspace and business support onsite.
Discovery Park shows no signs of slowing down, and nor do we.
Our ethos for reliability, connectivity and innovation is at the heart of what has allowed the business and science park and its tenants to flourish since day one.
Whether it be through networks, telecoms, cyber security, cloud services, hardware, software, or even a friendly face, we’re proud to have supported this journey. This has been a great time to look back over how far the park and we have come over the last 10 years on site. However, we’re excited to see what’s next so, here’s to the next 10 years!
