UKSPA Executive Team

UKSPA operates from Chesterford Research Park, near Cambridge and has a small Executive Team which delivers the day-to-day services for Members.

Jim Duvall – Executive Director

Jim was formerly Membership Manager of the Association (since February 2008) and was appointed to the role of Executive Director in 2017. He was previously Head of Information Management at the Local Government Association (LGA).

Prior to that he was Public Affairs Manager at the Association of County Councils.(ACC). He was heavily involved in ACC parliamentary lobbying and advocacy activities as well as conference and other event management including parliamentary receptions and political party conference fringe events. 

“We anticipate exciting developments for UKSPA members over the coming years,” said David Hardman, UKSPA Chairman, “Jim’s leadership combined with the resources offered by a full executive team will enable us to forge ahead with many of the more ambitious plans laid down over the past decade. As key contributors to the UK’s Industrial Strategy, science parks and sites of research and innovation really must have effective networks that encourage and support collaboration and knowledge sharing, and UKSPA sits at the centre of that remit”

Louise Tilbrook, Membership Administrator

Louise Tilbrook joined UKSPA in January 2018, having left her previous role as a Clinical Scientist in the NHS. Louise has a background in delivery of clinical services and clinical communication across several hospital sites and has worked with quality management systems to ensure effective service provision. She has also played a role in editorial content and support for various professional journals and newsletters.

Louise is the Membership Administrator and is responsible for the day to day maintenance of the website, social media updates and other member communications.

Adrian Sell, Communications Manager

Adrian has a number of years experience within the manufactiring sector including as Membership and Events Director at the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), further to which he oversaw the export support services for members and subsequently appointed board director of The Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO).

Adrian has worked on a number of initiatives over a sustained period within the manufacturing sector including representation, publishing and the launch of numerous events and conferences most recently within the digital manufacturing sector. In his role as Communications Manager, he is responsible for the production and delivery of communications and other activities that promote UKSPA and the Science & Innovation Sector both online, in print and events.
