UKRI Strength in Places Fund

Led by UK Research and Innovation, Strength in Places Fund (SIPF) is a new competitive funding scheme that takes a place-based approach to research and innovation funding, to support significant regional growth.

GREEN GOWN AWARDS 2018

 

The Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland 2018 is open for stage 1 applicants with a closing date of 8 June.  They are open to any tertiary education establishment  - including all post-16 educational institutions such as colleges, universities and learning and skills institutions. Specific categories are also aimed at student applications and third party applications (such as catering suppliers, waste companies, transport providers, accommodation providers, architects etc. working or partnering with post-16 educational institutions).

UK businesses can team up with a university or research organisation and a graduate to work together on an innovation project.

Up to £40 million of funding is available for businesses to work with an academic or research organisation and graduate on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership.

Lab Innovations returns to the NEC on 31 October to 1 November 2018

Lab Innovations, the UK’s only trade show dedicated to the laboratory industry, returns to the NEC, Birmingham, on 31 October & 1 November 2018. PM speech on science and modern Instrustrial Strategy

Ambitious new plans set out by the Prime Minister today will see around 22,000 fewer people dying from cancer each year by 2033.

Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult announces £3 million funding for UK's life sciences industry

The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult will lead a £3 million investment to scale up skills and training in the UK's life sciences industry.

It will create new skills and capabilities to bridge the gap between the regulatory approval of cell and gene therapies and the integration into front-line services.

The funding comes from UK Research and Innovation through Innovate UK
