The Park delivers commercial space, support and opportunities to grow and develop innovative agritechnology companies into valuable exporting businesses. It does this in three major ways: Technology Park and Environment Currently home to over 50 companies, Waikato Innovation Park is located on 17 hectares of land and offers modern commercial and laboratory facilities in an attractive park setting. More importantly, its tenants have ready access to specialist resources and research facilities, and operate in a collaborative environment which connects them to the region's most successful companies.Global Agricultural Developments Waikato Innovation Park is the driving force behind NZ Dairy Solutionz and NZ Sheep & Beef Solutionz – brands that are taking NZ's leading agricultural and biotechnologies to the global market. The Park leads a consortium of technology and service providers who are targeting new market segments by offering turnkey, large scale agricultural solutions. Investment Support The Park recognises that financing research and development, and finding capital to commercialise or expand that novel idea, are key ingredients for success. Waikato Innovation Park will facilitate access to funding for growth and expansion. As a TechNZ Regional partner, it assesses and delivers research and development investments. It also acts as the conduit to the Greenfields Network, a Waikato-based collective of angel investors. Subsidiary Companies Waikato Innovation Park acts as the central partner in a commercial consortium of established agricultural producers and suppliers – Dairy SolutioNZ (NZ) Ltd. This consortium combines the vast experience, technology and delivery capabilities of the AgBio cluster, provides leading edge, low cost, sustainable farm production systems. The Park designs and builds (or converts) large-scale farm operations that adopt leading low-cost technologies and systems. A feature of the Park's offering is the 'Best of Breed' turnkey solutions for large-scale land development and technology deployment. It also delivers support and education for ongoing farm operations. New Zealand Food Innovation (Waikato) Ltd New Zealand Food Innovation (Waikato) Ltd (NZFIW) is in the final stages of contracting a project to build a dairy facility (spray dryer) as the regional component of the New Zealand Food Innovation Network. The network is a Government initiative to encourage innovation in the Food Sector with the ultimate goal of increasing exports. The network consists of four centres around New Zealand, each with different and complementary focus. The Waikato centre will initially focus on dairy and will expand the focus to beef at a later stage. Each centre offers facilities and/or business support for businesses in the Food industry. Investors Eden Agricapital is a fund set up to drive value through the delivery of food innovation infrastructure and investment in proven agribusiness and agri-tech systems. It focuses on systems and innovations developed in New Zealand that provide productivity gains along the agricultural value chain globally, utilising a co-investment 'partnership' model. |
