IKT, the Institute of Knowledge Transfer, is the professional membership body for individuals working in Knowledge Transfer and Knowledge Exchange. IKT sets the standards for development of the profession and addresses issues surrounding accreditation, training and sharing and dissemination of best practice. Existing bodies bring together the organisations involved in knowledge transfer. IKT is different. It is dedicated solely to meeting the needs of the individuals and spans all types of KT whether it involves universities, private industry, public research establishments or government agencies.

IKT aims to provide a range of services and benefits that will help its members develop themselves as KT professionals. They encourage their members to embrace CPD as part of their personal development and provide support through their CPD tracker, information on KT events and courses and their bespoke online mentoring scheme. The IKT Recognised Course Provider scheme provides IKT members and the KT profession with guidance on those course providers IKT believes offer the quality and content of courses appropriate for professional development. IKT’s Research into KT Practice seminars aim to bring the latest KT developments and issues to the forefront, and their regional networking events provide the opportunity to meet with fellow members on a more informal basis. IKT also offers online professional networking and discussion through IKT membership of the GiNNN professional network.

IKT’s Organisational Sponsored Membership scheme allows employers to sponsor individuals as associates or members of IKT, thereby confirming that the recognition and development of knowledge transfer professionals is a key contribution to an organisation's success.

If you would like to know more about the benefits of joining IKT as member or an associate, visit the website at www.ikt.ikt.org.uk or contact Russ Hepworth AMInsKT, details above.
