Aberystwyth University Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences Pascall+Watson architects are experienced in providing science buildings throughout the United Kingdom. They have designed a range of university research facilities and have experience of government level science park masterplanning, alongside successful delivery of individual office buildings.

Many of their buildings have achieved an 'Excellent' BREEAM environmental rating. At the London Metropolitan University Science Centre they commissioned a bespoke BREEAM assessment and achieved an 'Excellent' rating, the first for this type of building in the UK. The centre's fully adaptable 'Superlab' was the first open plan lab in the world to enable tutors to teach up to 280 students simultaneously, with the assistance of bespoke laboratory technology.

At Aberystwyth University they have designed a new Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS), which has recently won a BRE award for being the best in the ‘Excellent’ BREEAM category. The project also includes an extensive refurbishment of three existing IBERS research and teaching laboratory facilities. The facilities will be the first in the world to fully explore the impact of global warming on our food supply.

Pascall+Watson have recently completed a new Customer Service Centre for the London Borough of Hackney, where the design has achieved a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating and provides a self sufficiency of 10% minimum renewable energy. On the Isle of Sheppey they have designed a new landmark low energy office building, Neats Court, which will be the flagship development for a masterplan. The project is designed to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating and optimises the use of passive ventilation design to reduce a reliance on mechanical systems.

London Metropolitan University Science Centre Their specialist team of architects, design managers, masterplanners, interior designers and project managers, with administrative and technical support, strive to fulfil their design philosophy which is based on providing the highest levels of design and performance. Currently 200 strong, with offices in London, Dublin, Limerick and Abu Dhabi, their stability and growth has been founded on a programme of continuous improvement and strong client relationships. They combine the strength of a well resourced, progressively efficient practice with the ability to respond rapidly and flexibly to the changing needs of individual clients.

Pascall+Watson maintain a Quality Management System meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 and are regularly audited by the British Standards Institute. They are accredited to BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, on the Green Register and have won a Wandsworth Council Green Business Award for their recycling initiatives. They have formed an association with a sustainable design group, SustainableBYDesign, who specialise in creating energy models and carrying out environmental monitoring and feedback studies. This collaboration enables them to work together on projects where their complimentary skills and know-how can be combined to provide added environmental value.

Pascall+Watson architects' objective is to provide a quality service for their clients; they listen to their needs with an innovative and fresh approach and aim to exceed their clients' expectations.
