One of the UK's leading engineering services and development specialists has celebrated its return to Coventry by winning a major contract to supply software across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Paramex has landed a three-year deal to manage and sell American firm aPriori's product cost management software, and in its tenth year of operating is also celebrating moving into a new home. The Paramex Group, which is made up of Paramex Limited, Paramex Design, Paramex DTC (Design to Cost) and Paramex ONE, has returned to the University of Warwick Science Park's Business Innovation Centre in Binley. The company has moved to the centre, on Harry Weston Road, having previously been a tenant between 2002 and 2006.

Chief executive Phil Hands said Paramex had enjoyed rapid growth over the last two years and has moved back into the centre to bring all its teams together under one roof. 'Like many of our clients, we too have been affected by the downturn, although we've been fortunate to see steady and consistent growth throughout 2009 and 2010,' he said. 'Bringing together Paramex, Paramex Design, Paramex DTC and Paramex ONE allows us to offer the benefits of expertise in all our divisions under one roof which is not only better for us, but more importantly for our customers. We obviously know the Business Innovation Centre extremely well from our previous time here and the flexible property, links with the University of Warwick and facilities on-site suit us down to the ground; we are delighted to be back.'

The new contract with aPriori sees Paramex have the sole rights to resell product cost management software which enables users to quickly understand the cost and consequences of their design, manufacturing or sourcing decisions and find the least expensive solution for their needs.

Mr Hands added: 'aPriori is a software application that helps you answer cost questions faster than you could ever imagine, such as what happens if you change the product design, will the cost go up or down, or what happens to the cost of the design if we change the material from aluminum to steel? It's an innovative system and can be used in any industry, we are delighted to have won the contract to manage the system and sell the product across the EMEA region.'

He added that Paramex is also in line to add to its 10-strong team by the end of the year.

Karen Aston, centre manager at the University of Warwick's Business Innovation Centre, said: 'Phil and his team has worked with major firms based across the globe for the last ten years, including many automotive and manufacturing firms based in the West Midlands. We are delighted to welcome Paramex back to the Business Innovation Centre and I congratulate them on winning the new contract with aPriori and we look forward to assisting them with future growth in any way we can.'
