48 Hours to Launch
Multiple hi-tech digital businesses will be created and launched in just 48 hours as Birmingham hosts its first Launch 48 event.
The idea of Launch 48 is to bring together participants from different backgrounds and levels of experience in the web industry to think, plan, develop and launch one or multiple web applications in one weekend.
Entrepreneurs for the Future (E4f) at Birmingham Science Park Aston, will both sponsor and host the event. Manager at E4f
Simon Jenner (pictured) said: “Birmingham has a wealth of digital talent and creativity and we’re delighted to welcome Launch 48 to the city, the first time it has ventured outside London.
The event will offer the opportunity for people with an interest in the digital arena to engage, learn and meet new people. Previous events, which have attracted some big name sponsors, have been described by participants as ‘frantic’ and ‘energy filled’. We’re expecting the same here.”
“The idea is to begin with people collaborating to create a web app concept, then spend the following 48 hours developing it into a viable, commercial app based business.”
“Launch 48 encourages participation from businesses or individuals not just from a digital background, but also with expertise in Management; Design; Development; Marketing, PR and Communications, as well as Finance and Legal.”
“The event provides specialist mentors to work with the participants, so it should be an inclusive and informative event for all, whatever their level of expertise.
”Launch 48 happens at Birmingham Science Park Aston on 26-28th March and more information, including details of how to join in, can be found online at http://birmingham.launch48.com/
