Lithuanian company comes to Liverpool Science Park's new soft landing centre
Liverpool Science Park is setting its sights on luring international companies to Liverpool. The Science Park’s new ‘Soft Landing Centre’ is designed to target new inward investment from foreign climes. Business Development Director, Chloe Young, expressed her delight in welcoming the Science Park’s first Lithuanian company, ‘The Business R&D Centre’, saying: ‘We are thrilled to welcome our first international company to our new Soft Landing Centre. As we look to grow the commercial knowledge economy for the City, attracting companies from outside of the Region and indeed the UK, is really important in developing the market and creating high-value jobs.’Liverpool Science Park came out top of a number of other possible locations in the North West. Company Director, Marius Lanskoronskis, visited a variety of locations, but, after attending one of Liverpool Science Park’s ‘Knowledge Economy Business Breakfasts’, Lanskoronskis was impressed with the facilities at the Science Park and its links to the City’s Universities. Marius said: ‘Liverpool Science Park’s Soft Landing Centre provides the ideal combination: high quality space, a community of innovative SMEs and access to the rich academic and research base on its doorstep.’ The Lithuanian company already works with partners in Germany, Denmark, Poland and Latvia to identify and commercialise new intellectual property and ideas emerging from leading universities. The UK was the next step in the company’s expansion plans and the new Soft Landing Centre at Liverpool Science Park provides and ideal home from which to test the UK market.
