University of Nottingham acquires Dairy Crest site
The University of Nottingham has confirmed it has acquired the former Dairy Crest sites, totalling 2.9 acres, to add to its growing land bank at the University of Nottingham Innovation Park (UNIP) at Jubilee campus.A number of new build projects are planned for the Innovation Park, off Triumph Road, which will see significant development over the next 18 months. The award-winning University of Nottingham Innovation Park now stands at 15 acres of key development land, and represents a major strategic development for The University of Nottingham. The Innovation Park, which opened its doors in 2008, provides first-rate business accommodation for businesses that are determined to innovate and would like to work closely with university researchers. UNIP is already home to the iconic Aspire tower – the UK’s tallest freestanding structure – the award-winning Sir Colin Campbell Building and the Nottingham Geospatial Building incorporating the GNSS Research and Applications Centre of Excellence (GRACE). Jo Derbyshire, operations manager at UNIP said: ‘This acquisition is the latest phase in our drive to develop excellent business accommodation and encourage innovation by providing the bridge between the corporate and academic worlds. A number of further plots are available for new build projects, where appropriate partners and tenants are identified and UNIP is also in negotiations for further acquisitions around the site. We will be making further announcements regarding these exciting developments in the near future.’ Pictured: Aspire and the Sir Colin Campbell Building. Monday, 8th March 2010 |
