Supporting Sellafield's Nuclear Decommissioning Mission

In collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory and GAU Radioanalytical, Game Changers announce a one day ‘challenge’ event where organisations can bring their innovative techniques, technologies and solutions to meet the challenges faced by Sellafield’s Analytical Services teams.
The Chairman of Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Dr Mike Short, CBE, has been appointed as the Chief Scientific Adviser by the Department for International Trade (DIT).
In the newly created role, Dr Short will build links with research, development and academic communities to commercialise and promote British scientific and engineering exports globally. His expertise and advice will also inform DIT’s policies on science and engineering, particularly in relation to technical aspects of future trade deals.
BEIS has confirmed the following consortia will be undertaking their SIA in the third wave.
The twelve consortia that will be part of the 3rd wave of SIAs are:
• Cyber Resilience Alliance (led by Worcestershire LEP with support from The Marches, Gloucestershire and Swindon and Wiltshire LEPs)

Industry proposals to help the UK’s life sciences sector become an international benchmark for success will be unveiled by Professor Sir John Bell during a speech at the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Translational Medicine later today (30 August 2017).
Attended by Business Secretary Greg Clark and Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, Sir John Bell will outline the industry’s vision for how government can work alongside the sector to boost businesses large and small across the £64 billion life sciences sector.
