Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP) strengthens team following strong growth period

Following a record period of growth, recently rebranded Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP) has added to its senior management team to oversee the continuing plans and strategy for Alderley Park, Cheshire and the core Manchester Corridor sites. 

BioVale to develop Yorkshire and the Humber’s bioeconomy, with the help of major investments.

BioVale has secured over £10m of investment to help develop the region as an international centre for bioeconomy innovation and development. The funding will be used to provide dedicated office and laboratory facilities and specialised training for bio-based industry. 

Sand Hutton Agri-Food Innovation Campus Director

DEFRA  is looking for an Innovation campus Director at Sand Hutton Agri-Food Innovation Campus.

To have overall responsibility for the operation and commercial development of the National Agri-Food Innovation Campus, York; a Defra owned science laboratory site housing the Food and Environment Research Agency and other public and private sector tenants.

The post holder will be the dedicated, on-site, senior management resource to oversee the operation and development of the Innovation Campus.

UCD ranked 5th in Europe for VC backed entrepreneurs

University College Dublin (UCD) is ranked 5th in a list of European universities that have produced VC-backed undergraduates according to a new report just published by PitchBook.

PitchBook (www.pitchbook.com) is a Seattle-headquartered research firm for private equity and venture capital data.

According to the Report entitled ‘Top Universities for VC-backed Entrepreneurs’, during the period January 2009 to August 2014, 31 UCD graduate entrepreneurs established 26 companies which raised $112 million in funding.

Spotlight on Bristol and Bath's tech cluster by innovation festival

A spotlight will be shone on Bristol and Bath’s vibrant high tech cluster when the UK becomes the first country to host a nationwide OpenCo innovation festival, backed by Tech City UK.

Now in its third year, OpenCo, which was first launched in San Francisco and later spread to cities including London, will involve clusters from across the UK, including Bristol and Bath’s tech hub.
