Scientists at Roslin BioCentre are developing a new approach to cancer research using stem cell technology.

Censo Biotechnologies in collaboration with the Leeds Institute of Cancer and Pathology at the University of Leeds, Censo will create induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from brain tumours removed from patients as part of their clinical treatment.  The stem cells will be used in the project to identify drugs which could prevent or limit the growth of brain cancer cells.

ADP reveals plans for new science building at the University of Leeds


ADP has submitted a detailed planning application for a new £96 million science building on behalf of the University of Leeds. The project is the largest single investment that the University has made in recent history.  

NETPark’s road to success


WORK has begun on infrastructure works which will form a key part of major expansion plans at a North East science park.

Dignitaries from Durham County Council and the North East LEP were among those who gathered (June 28) to mark the construction of the 1km road, which will access a further 26 acres of development land at the North East Technology Park (NETPark) in Sedgefield, County Durham.

Edinburgh Technopole: First phase of masterplan approved by Council.

The three new offices/laboratory buildings at the Edinburgh Technopole site are expected to secure 150 to 300 jobs. The application by AG Technopole was approved by Midlothian Council’s planning committee subject to referral to Scottish Ministers.
