If you are involved in innovative biomedical research or you supply products and services for biomedical research, we invite you to locate your business on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, either in bespoke single-occupier or multi-occupancy laboratories and offices.

With the first phase of the campus expansion fully allocated, developers Liberty Property Trust and Countryside are now focused on Phase 2. The master plan for this additional 14 acres which is based on generous open spaces, landscaped boulevards and cycle-ways, is designed to accommodate up to 75,000 sq m of floorspace.

The Biomedical Campus offers so much more than conventional science parks. It is a highly networked community of Academics, Businesses and Clinicians who are committed to working together to bring new and improved products and services to patients; an environment where companies can research and develop products in partnership with clinicians; where products can be transitioned from the laboratory to the clinic on the same site; and where businesses can communicate, person-to-person, with key opinion leaders both from academia and the NHS.

The existing occupiers comprising healthcare professionals and research scientists at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine are open to working alongside companies that can add value to the world-class research, education and clinical practice already taking place on the Biomedical Campus.

In addition to Phase 2, seven new buildings are either under construction or due to be constructed by 2018:

  • AstraZeneca - Strategic R&D Centre and Corporate HQ
  • Papworth Hospital – a 310-bed purpose-built heart and lung hospital
  • Heart and Lung Research Institute
  • The Forum - 200-bed Crowne Plaza Hotel; conference centre; post-graduate training centre; private hospital
  • Clinical research building for the University of Cambridge
  • 2 additional research support laboratories for the University of Cambridge
