Application For Overseas Membership of The United Kingdom Science Park Association

The United Kingdom Science Park Association is a Company Limited by Guarantee, membership of which according to its Articles of Association is open to Science Parks which comply with the Association’s definition of a Science Park.

The term Science Park describes:

A business support and technology transfer initiative that:
  • encourages and supports the start-up and incubation of innovation-led, high-growth, knowledge-based businesses;
  • provides an environment where larger and international businesses can develop specific and close interactions with a particular centre of knowledge creation for their mutual benefit;
  • has formal and operational links with centres of knowledge creation such as universities, higher education institutes and research organisations.
Initiatives called by other names, eg Research Park, Innovation Centre, High Technology Development, etc, where they meet the essential criteria set out above are also included within the definition.

Overseas Membership is reserved for science parks and similar organisations operating in countries outside the UK and Republic of Ireland who wish to have direct membership of UKSPA.
