Venturefest Yorkshire 2012
York Racecourse 08/02/2012 (09:00 - 17:00)| 36 of the region's most outstanding science, technology and innovation businesses will be selected by event organisers to receive subsidised exhibition space where they can showcase their ideas, talk to investors and support organisations, and enter competitions worth thousands of pounds as part of Innovation Showcase, which is sponsored by Science City York. The Investment Competition, organised by the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels, gives six pre-selected entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch directly to investors to seek financial input as well as potentially win a support package worth up to £30,000. Delegates and exhibitors can access a wealth of knowledge and experience through the programme of seminars and networking opportunities which present first hand motivational and inspirational accounts voiced by business leaders. Venturefest Yorkshire project manager Chris Wilson said: 'Venturefest Yorkshire is a beacon for economic growth in the region and sets an outstanding example for other regions in the UK to follow. We bring together the most promising businesses in our region and give them the opportunity to show their ideas, products and services to their best ability in a vibrant environment that is brimming with exciting opportunities. It's an intensive day for all involved and if past years are anything to go by then the 2012 event will undoubtedly be a terrific success.'
