Nottingham Trent University are recruiting for an Enterprise Innovation Centre Manager

NTU is currently in the process of developing its Enterprise Innovation Centre (EIC), as part of The Hive.  This will be located within a new 2,000m2 building within the NTU City campus and it will form the focal point for the University’s future enterprise activities. The aim is to create a dynamic learning environment where student and graduate entrepreneurs, other small growing businesses and larger companies can interact and collaborate with academics, professional services staff and each other; all of whom will benefit from working closely in partnership with the University.

To fulfil this vision, the EIC will be designed to incorporate space for student, graduate, academic and local enterprises, including a business hatchery (the new Hive) and flexible business space for all stages of business development. It will provide a new base for academic-business interaction including dedicated and branded ‘innovation space’.  The EIC will also be a new centre for business engagement in the City which will include a ‘front door’ to University business support offer. This will be supplemented with conference, meeting and seminar rooms as well as breakout space in order to enable University team members to work with and deliver support to local SMEs.

NTU is now seeking an experienced Manager capable of delivering the EIC goals in line with its business plan. This will include managing the University student and graduate enterprise offer and a specialist enterprise advisory team. Initially, the role will also involve overseeing the build project, creating and growing the brand in the “eyes” of key stakeholder and potential clients, and recruiting outstanding members of the team that can deliver the plan. In the medium term, the Manager will need to ensure that the EIC is self-sustaining whilst growing its outreach across the University and the wider City region.

Reporting to NTU’s Executive Dean for Enterprise and initially managing a team of ten colleagues, the EIC Manager’s role is crucial to delivering the University’s ambitious Enterprise Action Plan.
