CeADAR (www.ceadar.ie), the Centre for Applied Data Analytics Research, today announced the strengthening of its industry steering board with the appointment of three new board members. The three new board members are; Cronan McNamara, CEO, Creme Global; Professor Stefanie Lindstaedt, Head, Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science, Graz University of Technology and CEO of Know-Center, Austria’s research centre for data-driven business and big data analytics; and Philip Sharpe, CEO, Sonalake.
The role of the board, chaired by Michael Brosnan, who has led multi-national and indigenous technology firms for more than 25 years, is to support the Centre Director in determining the overall vision and strategic direction for the organisation.
CeADAR, funded by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, is a market-focused technology centre for the innovation and application of big data analytics and visualization with industry partners.
Led by University College Dublin (UCD), in partnership with DIT, CeADAR specialises in accelerated development and deployment of technologies such as predictive analytics, machine learning, real time analytics and visualisation. CeADAR is headquartered at NexusUCD, the Industry Partnership Centre at UCD.
Industry membership of CeADAR has grown significantly in recent years and now totals over 80 industry partners. The latest industry players to become members are Ericsson, Prudential and Vodafone.

Each of them brings an unrivalled wealth of experience in all aspects of data analytics and the international analytics ecosystem which will be of great benefit to the Centre as we shape our strategic plans for the years ahead.”

Professor Stefanie Lindstaedt, Head, Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science, Graz University of Technology said, “I am honoured to join the board of CeADAR which plays a vital role as an innovation engine for Ireland in the area of big data analytics. As I lead a similar centre in Austria I am looking forward to exchanging best practices for professional applied research. I also welcome CeADAR as a member of our European Network of Centres of Excellences in Big Data Research and I look forward to working with CeADAR in shaping the Big Data landscape and the European Data Economy together.”
Philip Sharpe, CEO, Sonalake said, “With its focus on practical industry prototypes, demonstrators and bleeding edge technology reviews, CeADAR is playing a crucial role in bridging third-level research with industry.
