Facility in Kent Science Park that handles invoice and expense solution processes now primed for growth in coming years

Concur, the world leader in travel and expense management, today opens its newly refurbished Service Centre in Sittingbourne, following a €1 million investment. Housing over 150 employees, including 72 that were hired in the last two years, the centre is primed for future growth.

The facility is located in the government-funded Kent Science Park – one of the largest purpose built business parks in South East England and is a vital part of Concur’s travel, expense and invoice solutions business. As well as auditing and validating receipts and invoices sent in by customers, the centre also houses an array of technical and service teams. These teams are responsible for new software implementation and ongoing support for Concur users across the globe.

Keith Simson, Senior Director at Concur and responsible for management of the site, said: “It has been a great period of growth for our Sittingbourne operations. Today’s unveiling really emphasises the work we have done to ensure this vital area of our business has the space and facilities to function effectively and expand even further.”

The investment into the centre is also vital in maintaining Concur’s high staff retention rate in Sittingbourne.

Simson continues: “As the number of employees at the site grow, there are more and more development and promotion opportunities – showcased with over a dozen of our staff being promoted or developing into new roles over the last 18 months. We are very proud of our ability to recruit and retain high-calibre employees – something we attribute to our culture of opportunity and progression.”

Jim Lucier, Chief Customer Officer at Concur, who travelled from the US to open the centre added: “Both the retention and hiring of staff shows how vital the Sittingbourne centre is for our operation. Employees here often speak about the community aspect of both the business park and our operations centre. Helping employees grow their knowledge and technical skills is key to career progression. Many staff progress to more technical roles after starting with us. As such this investment was vital to ensuring the crucial work they undertake each day continues.”
