UKSPA Members Marks & Clerk have released a new report, Microbial Infection: Point-of-care diagnostics.
Following the launch of their Life Sciences Report 2015 at the BIO International Convention last month, this new report, produced in collaboration with CPA Global, examines patent filings in the area of point-of-care diagnostic tests.
Although the issue has been attracting headlines for some years now, a serious threat from microbial resistance to drugs, compounded by misprescription of antimicrobials remains. Part of their support for the Longitude Prize, a challenge with a £10m prize fund aiming to conserve antibiotics for future generations, this report gives an indication not only of the levels of research into such tests and the types of organisations applying for patents in this area, but also the focus of recent research.
