Kent Science Park’s resident café EcoVillage spent Halloween entertaining customers with themed games, food and drink in order to raise money for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. Tenant Company Go Response, outsourced telephone answering service, media response and call centre bureau; also spent the morning raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support by selling themed-cakes and treats.
Last Friday, the café was fully decorated with cobwebs, spooky pumpkins and bloody footprints for customers to enjoy. EcoVillage staff served witches brew and toad in the hole at lunchtime to continue with the Halloween theme. A wide variety of games were taking place across lunchtime, involving trick or treats, apple bobbing, speed doughnut eating and fancy dress competitions. There was also a prize for the best Pumpkin Photo sent in to the café.
Emily Brooke, Owner of Ecovillage said: “I am delighted that tenants on Kent Science Park got involved in the activities and helped us raise money for Demelza Hospice and Care for Children; it is a local charity that relies on local support. EcoVillage has raised a substantial amount of money for Demelza over the years and we don’t plan to stop anytime soon. Using an event like Halloween was fantastic as we could come up with lots of themed spooky games!”
Go Response once again opened their offices on Friday for a Halloween Coffee morning special in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Glen Blow, Chief Operations Officer stated “Go Response and Macmillan/Marketpoint have worked closely for the past three years and as one of our key clients it was only natural that we held this event to raise money for such an important cause.” The team from Go Response and tenants of the Kent Science Park have raised £223.07 during the morning.
James Speck, Director at Kent Science Park said: “It’s always encouraging to see the time and effort our tenants put in to fundraising. Demelza Hospice Care for Children is a local charity we support on the Park and is a very worthwhile cause; as is Macmillan Cancer Support”.
