A fledgling Coventry IT firm has a recipe for success after achieving 150 per cent growth in six months
HeadTech Solutions provides IT support services including the management and maintenance of desktops, servers, networks as well as offering 24/7 support, disaster recovery services, cloud computing and IT security.
Managing director Phil Hynes established the company at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Business Innovation Centre in Binley.
The 36-year-old has over 18 years’ experience in the IT industry and previously worked as an IT Director at national recruitment agency Monarch Recruitment.
HeadTech Solutions has built-up a strong customer base across the UK, providing regular IT support to a wide range of business sectors.
Phil said: “I initially had the idea to set-up my own business around eight years ago but I didn’t know where to start.
“It was only after working as an IT director for six years that I finally felt it was the right time to give it a go and launch my own company.
“Monarch Recruitment came on board as my first client. I had built their IT systems so sub-contracting all of their IT support to me and providing 24/7 support was an easy decision.
“The company has since achieved significant growth which is a fantastic achievement and an ever growing client base.
“Some of the larger contracts started to take up a lot of resources so, four months ago, I decided to recruit two apprentices, Lauren Delday and Ryan McDowell, to help meet the demand.
“They have become like my right arm and provide the first and second line of support by talking to customers and helping to solve IT problems.”
He added: “I felt that the Business Innovation Centre provided the perfect location to set-up the business as it has a strong reputation for helping start-ups during their first few years of trading and the flexible office space will also enable us to continue to expand.
“Over the next 12 months we will be looking to establish our place within this market. We already specialise in providing IT support to businesses in the recruitment sector and we are now looking to move into the schools arena with a few big contracts in the pipeline.
“As we secure additional clients, I will also be looking to recruit an additional two members of staff with plans to expand into larger office space in the next 18 months.”
Penny Robb, centre manager at the Business Innovation Centre, added: “We are delighted to welcome HeadTech to the Business Innovation Centre in Binley which offers a great environment to help start-up companies thrive.
“I am pleased to see that the company has already achieved substantial growth and is planning to unlock new markets.
“HeadTech offers fantastic high-quality IT support and Phil and his team strip back the IT jargon to ensure that clients understand what is required to help increase their productivity and focus on their business objectives.”
