Mark Tock
Mark Tock Director Mark is currently Innovation Manager for the public-private partnership Space NW, which manages and develops the 110 acre Liverpool Innovation Park (LIP) as a commercial innovation hub for knowledge-based businesses. Mark's 'day job' involves advising on the development of LIP as a sustainable science park, managing key stakeholder relationships, marketing, business development, ensure that clients access support to encourage growth, and develop a vibrant community of knowledge-intensive businesses at LIP.Additionally, Mark is heavily involved in developing one of the Business Neighbourhood Front-runner Projects and a Liverpool Cloud Computing Campus. Mark also chairs the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Digital Economy Committee, serves as a DWP Start-up Mentor, a SET Science Ambassador, and a Seroli Project Panel Member. A molecular biologist by training, prior to joining Space Northwest in 2008 Mark was the University of Sheffield Bioincubator's founding Manager and one of the original members of the UK Bioincubator Forum. This involved leading an ERDF-funded project, establishing business incubation and support programmes, business development activities, and considerable international travel. Mark has also provided business development and e-marketing support for biotech start-ups in Yorkshire. Prior to joining to establishing Sheffield's Bioincubator, Mark enjoyed a successful career as a published biomolecular research scientist. These roles involved managing research projects and international collaborations. |
