Lesley Evans

Lesley Evans  Director Lesley has been Chief Executive of Haseltine Lake, European Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys since 2001. Lesley qualified as a solicitor in a major London firm, and held in-house counsel roles in the retail and construction sectors before making the transition to management roles, first in the timber industry and subsequently in a Midlands law firm. As Chief Executive, Lesley is responsible for both the strategic and the operational management of Haseltine Lake. She chairs the firm’s Management Committee and oversees its business development program. She is also responsible for a range of service improvement initiatives and regularly visits clients to obtain feedback on the firm's service delivery. Haseltine Lake has been a Business Affiliate of UKSPA since 2002 and has offices located in Bristol, Leeds, London and Munich. The firm’s clients range from international corporations to SME’s. Many of those in the SME sector are located on Science Parks in the UK and the firm’s client base also includes a number of University and independent research organisations, creating a natural synergy with the Science Park movement and with UKSPA. Lesley is very enthusiastic about the need for IP awareness in the SME sector and about the use of IP to create competitive advantage and to differentiate small UK business in the international high-tech sector. Lesley was co-opted to the Board in 2006 and elected in 2007 as UKSPA’s first Business Affiliate Director with a brief to represent the interests of the Business Affiliates and to extend their involvement in and support for the work of the Association.
